Alfa enthusiast know how hard it can be to locate quality Alfa Romeo car parts, especially ones that actually match our needs and come at a price that doesn’t include another mortgage on the family home.

Maybe you have been to the not so local “Pull your own part” to spend hours searching through brush, bramble and hornets for the part you need only to find that they don’t have it and have no clue where that particular Alfa Romeo car part can be located, (They could have told you that to start with).

Maybe you’ve visited your local parts house, ordered the parts you needed then waited two weeks only to find the wrong parts were ordered. Or, perhaps you’ve visited the various web sites that promise quality affordable parts but only deliver shadows of what you actually need.

We’ve all been through this and, yes, it’s time consuming and frustrating. Not to take anything away from local vendors who offer Alfa Romeo car parts, I’ve found through trial and error that quite often my best opportunity to find what I truly need is on the Internet.

I’ve done the ground work so that you don’t have to. I’ve done my research, fought the sharks, held off the piranha and waded through the dirty waters to determine who can be trusted and offers a reliable web site to find and get the parts you need when you need them. Don’t just take my word for it though, research this site yourself, compare customer satisfaction ratings and I’m sure that you’ll find their reliability and prices unmatched.

It’s very simple really, just go to www.findapart.com and locate the link for your Alfa Romeo car parts. You’ll find exactly the parts you need, (not cheep knock offs) at prices that wont close your bank account out.

For quality, service and peace of mind, visit the trusted leader in Alfa Romeo car parts; www.findapart.com to get the Alfa Romeo car parts you need when you need them.

Characteristics of Exotic Cars

Characteristics of Exotic Cars
By Maxwell Philip

1965 Ferrari 275
By Sean Rozekrans (Flickr: 1965 Ferrari 275) [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons
There are many different defining characteristics of an exotic car. The shape of the car be exotic in the sense that it is extremely non-traditional or striking in the way it attracts attention. Ferraris and Lamborghinis are often cited as being prime example of exotic cars because of the way they are shaped among other things. Exotic cars have certainly curvaceous features that tend to catch the eye. Some of these cars also have bright colors such as red, yellow, or blue to grab attention from those who are passing by as well. A lot of exotic cars have hourglass shapes which can be easily recognized by many on the street.

Another characteristic of exotic cars is the size. Some of them are smaller while others much larger. Almost all exotic cars can seat only two people. There are some models which have very small back seats that are used for storage purposes, such as with a number of muscle cars. There are certain exotic cars like the Bentley which are able to seat people in the rear of the car, although this is for the most part considered to be rare. Many exotic cars are small in size; however under the hood they have extremely powerful engines which help them to go very fast.

The materials which exotic cars are made from also differ. Sometimes they are constructed from extremely strong space-age material, and other manufacturers prefer heavier composite. A lot of the exotic cars which can be found around the world are made with a carbon fiber base, making them extremely durable. Lately an increasing number of exotic cars have been made out of lighter weight material which is cheaper in production and still makes for a very sturdy vehicle.

When you look under the hood of an exotic car, chances are you will be impressed with what you find. Most of them are known for having extraordinarily powerful engines which is why they are able to accelerate so fast and maintain unbelievable speeds on the road. It is not uncommon for an exotic car to have over a thousand horse power. Sometimes the way these cars are designed is illegal in certain countries because of how fast they can go. This is part of why they are not allowed to be driven in the United States and are sold overseas for the most part.

These cars can get extremely expensive as well. The average price of a high-end exotic car is at least $500,000. Sometimes they are sold for more than $1,000,000 depending on the rarity and design. There are a number of wealthy individuals around the world who are willing to pay for such vehicles, as they are a status symbol of accumulated wealth and power. Most of the people who actually own these vehicles do not go out on the road with them unless it is to put them to the test in a race with other exotic cars. They are not sold by the thousands like other lower-end models are because of the high price; however there are many people who still own them.

Sports Cars – Modified by Technology for Higher Performance

Sport Cars – Modified by Technology for Higher Performance

A sports car can be referred to as an automobile specifically intended for performance driving. Almost all sports cars are rear-wheel drive, possess two seats, two doors, and are intended for accurate handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. A sports car mainly aims at high-class road handling, braking, maneuverability, low weight, and high power, and not passenger space, comfort, and fuel saving.

Sports cars come under either luxurious or spartan, but the compelling aspect is the driving mechanical performance. Drivers consider brand name and the related racing reputation and history as important pointers of sporting versatility, but some brands, even though they do not indulge in racing or constructs racing cars, is also widely respected.

A car may be classified as a sporting automobile even if it is not a sports car. Performance alterations of common, production cars, such as sport compacts, sports sedans, muscle cars, hot hatches and other cars similar to these generally are not sports cars, still share characteristics owned by sports cars. Sometimes, performance cars of all compositions are classified as Sports cars, or, often, as performance cars.

A sports car does not need a big, powerful engine, even though a lot of them do have them. Some traditional sports cars do not possess powerful engines, but were popular for excellent handling because of its light weight, a well-engineered, balanced chassis, and modern suspension. On complex and compressed roads, automobile like them achieve more efficiency than a heavier, more powerful luxury car with less flexibility.

As a result of North American safety regulations, a lot of sports cars are not in the market for sale or use in the United States and Canada. In the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle Eastern market (e.g. UAE), an adjustable attitude towards small-volume specialist manufacturers has helped companies to flourish. The drive train and engine layout decide the handling features of an automobile, and is the core to the design of a sports car.

For sports cars of any generation the front-engine, rear-wheel drive train layout (FR layout) is common. This configuration has lasted the test of time longer in sports cars compared to mainstream automobiles. For achieving of better handling and weight distribution, other formats have been developed. The RMR layout is a commonly feature seen only in sports cars – the motor is centre-mounted in the chassis (nearer to and behind the driver), and supports only the rear wheels. High-performance sports car and supercar manufacturers always show a liking to this layout. A lot of modern cars, specifically grand tourers, also employ a FMR layout, with the motor placed between the front axle and the firewall.

Only a few manufacturers still employ the rear-engine, rear-wheel drive layout (RR layout). The motor has well spread out weight across the wheels, and this delivers exceptional traction, but is not advisable, as the engine’s weight is not between the two axles; the vehicle is badly balanced, thus, many early vehicles handled errantly. However with the continuous modifications to the design, added with the engineering developments and support of electronic driving i.e. computerized traction-stability control, the manufacturers have been able to fight against inherent weaknesses in the design. Sports cars continue to be an irresistible attraction for car fanatics all over the world.

Muscle Cars Versus Sports Cars

Muscle Cars Versus Sports Cars
By William Jason

1970 Plymouth Superbird
By brewbooks from near Seattle, USA (1970 Plymouth Superbird) [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons
Well before World War II, American automakers as well as automakers from several European countries had started to produce extremely fast and powerful cars. Certainly, that concept was not strange at that time, however these cars were particularly expensive and suited for the high end clientele who had a great need for speed. As the 1950s and 1960s approached, manufacturers started to put out what they referred to as muscle cars, which were high powered, high acceleration vehicles that provided the same power as the high end models made previously, except they were at a much more affordable price

Ironically, if you wish to own a muscle car today, you need to be prepared to pay about the same price as you would for a European sports cars or more. Since many of the popular muscle cars are no longer in production, they are pretty rare, and thus quite expensive. As an example, a mint condition 1970 Chevelle can cost upwards of $50,000 or more. A rare 1970 Superbird, even one that needs reconditioned, can sell for $100,000 or more. This is because only 2,000 of these models were ever produced.

Often times, the difference between owning a sports car today and a muscle car isn’t about the cost, but the preference of the owner. If someone wants a sleek, low profile car that catches people’s eye, and exudes class and distinction, they would probably opt for a sports car. Those who love the raw power and looks of a muscle car, will be more than happy to pay a similar price for a top of the line model of their choice.

In the end, there will always be debate about sports cars vs. muscle cars. Some people will tell you that they all belong in the same category, while others will vehemently deny these cars should ever be classed together. In reality, all that matters is that the car you buy makes you a happy and proud owner. Hopefully it is One that you will want to show off and is the apple of your eye, even ten years after you bought it!
